The Navy's Anchorage is a non-profit company that operates cafes and other outlets on Royal Australian Navy Bases across Australia. We are passionate about and committed to our purpose - to deliver a dynamic range of welfare and lifestyle benefits and services to Royal Australian Navy members. We are currently operating a licenced post office at HMAS Cerberus, Mornington VIC.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Postal Services Officer to join our team located at HMAS Cerberus. HMAS Cerberus is the Navy's premier training establishment based near Crib Point on Hann's Inlet in Victoria. As a Postal Services Officer, you will contribute to our goal of creating a positive customer experience by providing excellent customer service. The role is full time 9 am – 5:06 pm Mon - Fri , 38 hours per week.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Perform customer sales and service transactions
  • Promote and process a broad range of financial agency transactions through Australia Post’s technology systems
  • Conduct and process a range of identity services transactions (e.g. Australian Passport Interviews) to establish applicant’s identity with a high level of accuracy and compliance according to requirements
  • Accept mail items for lodgement, with accurate assessment of applicable charges
  • Build collaborative relationships with customers; seek to understand the needs of customers
  • Prepare outward mail for dispatch through correct presentation, review of charging related documents, and cancellation of stamps
  • Open and close the business, and provide end of day reporting
  • Assist and/or perform administrative duties such as stocktaking and record maintenance
  • Appropriate knowledge and awareness of Occupational Health and Safety relevant to the position

To succeed in this role you will need the following skills and attributes:

  • Must have a Australia Post Workforce ID
  • Excellent working experiences and knowledge of Post Office procedures
  • Ability to provide exceptional customer service
  • Highly developed face to face customer service and communication skills
  • Reliability and ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently and remotely
  • A high standard of grooming and presentation as this is a front of house role

Due to security requirements, the successful candidate will need to be an Australian Resident or Citizen and undergo a Police Check and baseline security clearance, which we will organize and pay for.
